Anthony J. Peraica
Tony Peraica is the principal and founder of Anthony J. Peraica & Associates. He also proudly represents the 16th District on the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
A true American success story, Tony was born in Croatia in 1957, and was orphaned at the age of 11. He came to the United States when he was 13. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he earned his B.A., and went on to earn his law degree from the John Marshall Law School. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1984.
Elected to the Cook County Board of Commissioners in 2002, Peraica was a member of the alliance of mostly-freshman commissioners that defeated Stroger’s proposed 2004 budget. Since that time, Tony has championed a reform agenda on the Cook County Board.
He resides in Riverside, Illinois with his wife Nilo and is the proud father of his daughter, Anisa, and son, Marko.
James Vallar
James Vallar has been with Anthony J. Peraica & Associates since 1998. Mr. Vallar has over twenty-two years experience in general practice and currently concentrates heavily in Personal Injury and Social Security Disability and Insurance law. Mr. Vallar earned his B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University of Chicago and earned his J.D. from Loyola University Law School. Mr. Vallar is proud to be a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and has served as Council Advocate. Mr. Vallar also currently serves as an arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Tim Sprague
Tim Sprague joined Peraica and Associates, Ltd. in 2004. Tim acquired his Bachelors degree from Eastern Illinois University (’99), and his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis College of Law (’02). Tim brings years of experience in personal injury, social-security, and real-estate law to the team.
In addition to his work as a Lawyer, Tim has been a Lyons Township Trustee since 2005, and also serves as a Trustee on the Lyons Township Mental Health Board.
Slaven Ilic
Slaven Ilic joined Anthony J. Peraica & Associates, Ltd., in 2007 as an associate. Mr. Ilic combines a dynamic young legal mind with an out-of-the box-thinking to accomplish client’s goals. Mr. Ilic is well versed in a number of different areas of the law including: personal injury, family law, chancery remedies, administrative law, commercial and residential real estate transactions, and criminal defense, just to name a few. Mr. Ilic graduated from DePaul University with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics (with honors, 2002) and The John Marshall Law School (J.D., 2005).
Jay Verdugo
Jay J. Verdugo has been an associate with Anthony J. Peraica & Associates since 2008. Mr. Verdugo is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois and is a proud member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Verdugo worked as an engineering intern with such companies as General Motors and Kraft Foods, and completed his law school externship with the intellectual property law firm of Cherskov & Flaynik. Mr. Verdugo earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his M.S. in Industrial Operations Engineering, both from the University of Michigan, and earned his J.D. cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
